Mock & Toof è un progetto composto dai producer londinesi Duncan Stamp e Nick Woolfson, balzato agli onori della cronaca con il sorprendente album Tuning Echoes(2010). I due – a capo della label Tiny Sticks – pubblicheranno il prossimo 17 settembre il nuovo LP Temporary Happiness, preceduto dal singolo My Head con la collaborazione dell’artista svizzero Gostaphe.
Duncan e Nick si sono fatti conoscere nel corso degli anni per aver prodotto anche con la celeberrima DFA di James Murphy e per aver remixato nomi del calibro di The Juan Maclean, Hot Chip, Scissor Sisters.
My Head è una traccia dalle atmosfere lounge-balearic, perfetta per un pomeriggio rilassante di fine estate. La matrice funk è inconfondibile così come gli inserti dub e i bassi profondi. Il risultato finale è un brano sensuale e delicato, arricchito dall’ossessivo refrain vocale.
My Head ti entra in testa e non va più via. Un viatico incoraggiante per il nuovo album.
Mock & Toof is a project made up of Duncan Stamp and Nick Woolfson which has already hit the headlines with the stunning album Tuning Echoes (2010). The two Londoners producers – at the head of the label Tiny Sticks – are gonna publish on the 17th of September the new LP Temporary Happiness, anticipated by the single My Head with the collaboration of Gostaphe.
Duncan and Nick have made themselves known over the years producing also with the renowned James Murphy’s DFA and remixing The Juan Maclean, Hot Chip, Scissor Sisters, Holy Ghost!.
My Head is a lounge-balearic-atmospherics track, ideally suited for a relaxing afternoon at the end of summer. The funky roots are unmistakable likewise the dub sonorities and the deep basses. The final result is a sensual and subtle track, embellished by the obsessive vocal refrain.
My Head sticks in the mind and doesn’t go away any more. It’s an emboldening beginning for the new album.
